Departure from the Homeland ;)

We are arriving in Zurich, Switzerland tomorrow (I know, so soon!!)!!!! From there we will be traveling to Champex, where we will begin our roughly 11 day hike along the Tur de Mont Blanc. Mont Blanc is located on the border of Switzerland, Italy and France and we have been told to brush up on our French... which of course neither of us have taken. Parelez-vous anglais? Ich kann nur auf Englisch, ein bischen Deutsch und Spanisch sprechen. This will be interesting...

This map shows in red the trail that we will be following for 10 days. Tour de Mont Blanc is quite well-known throughout Europe for the breath-taking views and quaint mountain towns that are found along the trail.

Greetings Everyone!!

So that time has come to again document my travels as I depart on another adventure!! The plan is to not be as ambitious as I was when blogging in Galapagos, therefore I will be mostly posting pictures with some descriptions. The main idea is that all of  you will be able to actually follow where we are at any given time (or as often as I can make it to an internet cafe to post pics ;).

Anyway as I am sure all of you have guessed... YES, we are traveling to Europe! Ben and I will be across the pond for 10 weeks. We are excited beyond words!! So many places to experience, views to ponder and trains to board. Our plan is to keep mostly to Western Europe, while spending most of our time in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium... but then again plans are more of a guideline. We want our trip to be as fluid and spontaneous as possible to promote authentic interactions with the people around us and to fully experience the culture of the places we visit. This is our goal and along the way, after we report back to you all, let us know how we are doing with this :) 

I have to say that I feel very fortunate to be able to travel for the second time this year and we are looking forward to all of the people we are going to meet and the sights we will taking in along the way.
